Desponia, the Warfiend

Portrait of an NPC from a heavily modified Dragon Heist campaign I'm part of - Desponia the Warfiend, Horseman of Zariel.
She was an important part of my character's arc and probably one of my favourite NPCs I've seen.

I got to try a more free approach to this portrait than I usually do, also trying to let what I want to draw shine instead of only what I think I should be drawing. I also remembered my favorite custom brush from a friend, and it's the main one I've used throughout.

Finished portrait of the Warfiend. Experimenting with layer options gave me the reddish tint around the eyes and on the fire, and it was an overall very free and good experience drawing this.

Started off just wanting to get the exact face and mood

contemplated making a full-body portrait, but decided against it since I wanted the focus to be on the face and mood

Laying down some basic values to get an idea as to how it might look in the end.
